Dr. Acquavella received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and his MPH from George Washington University School of Public Health with a concentration in disease prevention/ health promotion. He continued his medical training with a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Bridgeport Hospital- Yale University, and then completed a fellowship in adolescent medicine at Children’s National Medical Center. Prior to joining the faculty at USciences as the Medical Director of the Physician’s Assistant program, Dr. Acquavella held faculty positions at Temple University School of Medicine, Drexel University College of Medicine, and St. Luke’s- Temple University School of Medicine.  He has held numerous clinical positions including most recently at St. Luke’s Pediatric Associates and as Director of Adolescent Medicine at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.  In addition, he served as the Associate Director of the Pediatric Residency program at St. Christopher’s and has been involved in the training of many medical students and residents.  He has presented on a variety of topics, but especially related to gynecology, men’s health, sexual health, contraception, smoking cessation, substance use, HPV, and eating disorders.

Dr. Acquavella is currently the medical director for the Graduate Professional Physician Assistant Studies, and is also the Medical Director for the student health service at the University of the Sciences.
