Occupational History

Kim’s primary occupation is mother to her two energetic little boys, Joseph and Matthew. The three of them can always be found on some kind of adventure, whether it’s hiking the Appalachian Trail, skiing in Vermont or headed to South Philly for a Phillies or Flyers game. Kim grew up in the mountains of northwestern New Jersey and relocated to Philadelphia for college.  Kim is an alumna of the Occupational Therapy department at the University of the Sciences.

Kim spent most of her clinical career working in local urban acute care hospital settings.  Kim started as an adjunct at USciences in 2007 and joined the department as a full time faculty member in November of 2011.  Kim continues to work clinically in local acute care settings.  In her downtime from work and motherhood, Kim enjoys spending time with friends, going for a run or bike ride, or relaxing with a good book.

Education

Kim received her Bachelor of Science in Health Science and Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of the Sciences in 2001.

Clinical Practice

Kim has worked as an Occupational Therapist at Cooper Hospital, Orthopaedic & Neurosurgical Specialists, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and per diem in a variety of facilities.  Kim spent a number of years specializing in rehabilitation of the upper extremity.  Her clinical interests are in orthopaedics and urban acute care settings.

Scholarship Activity

As a member of the Philadelphia Region Fieldwork Consortium, Kim works with the other Academic Fieldwork Coordinators in the Philadelphia area to enhance the quality of fieldwork education in our clinical community.  They sponsor continuing education and support to clinical sites that are involved in the University’s student programs.
