Research Interests
Oxidized lipids and lipoproteins in disease Role of vitamin E and specific carotenoids in limiting endothelial cell-mediated lipoprotein oxidation Intracellular transport and interactions between cholesterol and oxidized sterols Effect of antioxidants on lipoprotein oxidation and antherogenesis in cholesterol-fed rabbits Subsets of patients at risk for cardiovascular disease
Synopsis
Dr. Morel's research seeks to understand the mechanisms by which oxidative and nitrative species contribute to changes in cellular function in chronic disease, and how dietary components or antioxidants may protect against these changes.
