Dr. Tannenbaum is a leader in healthcare, having dedicated nearly three decades of service to some of the most successful global healthcare companies, including pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices and pharmacy benefit management organizations.
Currently, she serves as Head of Global Customer Excellence, AbbVie. In this role she is responsible for developing and implementing global commercial capabilities including business intelligence, marketing and sales excellence, launch excellence, patient experience and learning for the global organization. Prior to this she served as President, Myrtle Potter & Company, LLC, from 2011-2012 where her focus areas included business strategy, licensing, acquisition, product development and commercialization.
Prior to joining Myrtle Potter & Company, LLC, Renee was Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Elan Pharmaceutics, Inc. from 2009 to 2011, where she was responsible for revenue generation for Elan’s marketed products, most notably Tysabri, preparing for the commercialization of the company’s pipeline, including its Alzheimer’s portfolio; and strengthening the company’s overall commercial capabilities.
Prior to her role at Elan, Dr. Tannenbaum was Head of Global Commercial Operations at Novartis Pharma Ag, from 2006 to 2009 and General Manager of the Americas for ConvaTec, a Bristol-Myers Squibb company from 2004 – 2006. She held a variety of other commercial roles at BMS and Merck and Company in operations and general management from 1981 to 2004.
Prior to joining the industry, Dr .Tannenbaum was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Sciences and at Temple University School of Pharmacy. Sheserves on the Board of Sharps Compliance, Inc. and Bay Bio, a Northern California Life Sciences Association. She also serves on the Advisory Board for the Women Business Leaders in Healthcare Industry Foundation (WBL) and the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA). Dr. Tannenbaum received the University of Connecticut Distinguished Alumni Award in 2006.
