What is an RSS feed?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary". It provides a list of headlines from a particular website. Every time the website associated with the feed publishes a new article, the feed is updated to include the new headline.
What are the benefits?
If you are a person who regularly uses the web, RSS feed subscriptions may be a great tool for you. It allows you to have all the news, events, and announcements from all your favorite sites automatically delivered to you in one convenient place so that you don't have to visit each of those sites individually.
What do I need to do to read an RSS feed?
In order to begin subscribing to RSS feeds, you will need to have a place to read your subscriptions. There are a few ways that you can read your news. If you prefer a RSS reader that isn't tied to a particular computer, My Yahoo, Google Reader and Bloglines are popular free web services. Another option is a desktop RSS news reader or aggregator, available for both Windows and Macintosh are FeedReader and Vienna.
Once I have a place to read my subscriptions how do I subscribe to an RSS feed?
Right click on the RSS icon or the name of the feed, and copy the link (page URL). Then paste the link (page URL) into the news reader.
